It's not minor to you, it's not minor to us

Merseyside's Police Commissioner has used her monthly blog to highlight the launch of a new partnership focused on tackling antisocial behaviour in our communities.
"Anti-social behaviour is one of the biggest issues people raise with me across Merseyside. I hear it on doorsteps, in emails and at public meetings.
"Whether it’s constant noise, vandalism, or intimidation, ASB can make everyday life miserable. It leaves people feeling unsafe in their own homes and fed up that nothing seems to change.
"Let me be clear: ASB isn’t minor to you, so it’s not minor to us.
"That’s why we’ve launched the Merseyside Anti-Social Behaviour Partnership, bringing together the police, councils, housing providers, the fire service, health partners and community groups. In simple terms, it means the people responsible for dealing with ASB are now working closer together.
"Too many residents have told me they feel bounced from one organisation to another when they ask for help. This new partnership is about sorting that out, sharing information quicker, protecting repeat victims and responding more effectively.
"And you should see more action. From closure and dispersal orders to tougher enforcement, the police and partners will be using every power available to crack down on ASB.
"But we also know enforcement alone isn’t the answer. Prevention matters. That’s why I’ve once again opened my Youth Empowerment Scheme for the third year, offering £600,000 to projects that give young people positive opportunities instead of letting problems spiral. Grants of up to £25,000 are available now.
"My final message is: please report ASB. What might seem small on its own often isn’t. Reporting helps build the full picture and means action can be taken. Together, we can make our streets safer and our communities stronger.
